When nice guys yell

We’d hate to see you save a few bucks and be unhappy in the long run. We’re passionate about quality. We stay true to who we are, but it sometimes means we raise our voices as we try to protect our potential customers.

It’s not that we’re mad at them; we’re just tired of watching great people get taken advantage of year after year. It’s a fine line between passion and anger. We try hard to make it clear that we are caring, not yelling.

We’ve seen it too many times: a guy wants to save a grand, so he buys a lesser product and runs into trouble. The money he thought he saved is sucked into the giant hole he dug for himself by not getting a wood product he could trust right out of the gate.

We’ve actually been contacted several times within a two-week span by a customer begging to place a rush order to replace the junk he bought — after telling us our product was too expensive. So, therein lies the rub. Is it worth it?

Let’s say you plan to invest thousands of dollars on exterior wood for your home. You’re looking at our product and comparing it against one that might save you $800-$1000. Do you want to rip it off after a year or two?

We’ve taken incoming calls from two people inside of two days saying they’d purchased log siding from another company, complaining about it being “crap” and asking if ours was good. Good? How about awesome. How about no warping? How about kiln-dried to perfection? Would you like it custom-cut to fit perfectly and go up like a dream? Yeah.

Have we never, ever had a problem? We’ve been in business for decades, so, yes, we’ve had to step up and fix mistakes from time to time — but those situations are rare for us. A person’s word means something — or at least it should. Orders are orders. Contracts are contracts. There are times when we need to hold customers accountable for what they agreed to in the first place. This may be an old-fashioned principle but that is who we are, and we count on our customers to be the same.

We promise to deliver our best products and service every single day. We’ve been doing it for a long time and don’t plan to stop. We think integrity is a big deal. We’re really nice guys, so please don’t interpret us raising our voices as anything other than our commitment to everything — including wood — being as it should be.
