People naturally dive into projects when spring breaks, but they’re doing more because the COVID-19 pandemic ironically has delivered a silver lining to many: time.
Although stay-at-home orders have come with plenty of downsides, the “extra” time many people have is an interesting bonus. Projects that have been waiting suddenly are getting the attention they deserve.
We have a lot of customers starting projects they’d been procrastinating. Others are finishing ones left in the dust of busy lives.
We’re open — and blessed to be busy during the crisis. We’re practicing social distancing per the rules (masks, outside delivery and paperwork in the parking lot) and shipping wood. The new sign we mounted makes it clear that we’re mitigating.
Because we create wood for building, we are considered an essential business. Because we create quality, custom, handcrafted wood, we think we’re essential for those who care about their project lasting generations.
Some of our fellow business owners are afraid to market their services because “nobody is buying anything” right now. Others are assuming “everybody” is freaked out and need quiet time to stay healthy. That’s not the case for WoodHaven.
Our customers are shifting the money they were spending on “going out” to projects they can do while staying home. They’re getting take-out from restaurants they love, but they’re not going to the movies or concerts. All that money they were spending on entertainment is going toward projects.
Lack of money and time excuses have gone out the window from what we can tell. Our customers suddenly, unexpectedly have the time they wanted to tackle a project and aren’t “going in the hole” financially because there are so few places to spend what was funny money.
People are doing projects. We have evidence. We also have the wood.
Give us a call so we can help you figure out what you need and how to get it to you safely — while you have some time on your hands. Be well. Stay safe. And do that project with some WoodHaven wood.
