Feeling the pinch of midsummer? Your list is long; time is short. We feel you. Six or eight weeks ago it all looked doable, didn’t it? We know. We’re in the same boat.
Your partner might be patiently waiting, gently reminding, or unabashedly complaining (ah-hem) up a storm. It really doesn’t matter because you feel the heat, don’t you?
Well, here’s the deal: one project often is 10 when you break it down. A project rarely is one task. At the very least you need to move something to get to the thing you need to do the thing you can’t reach, so you have to grab a ladder — and extension cord, and water or beer or whatever. Then, you need to run to the hardware because you have everything except X (or Y and Z). The next thing you know, you’re on the road for an hour and in a big-box store for another, and your day of glory has gone down in a ball of flames.

OK, so maybe it’s not that bad, but we’ve all had those days. Some of us are battered and bruised by the Honey Do list hanging on the fridge, the mirror, or (like one poor fool we know) on the dartboard (held in place by the dart he doesn’t dare use for any fun just yet).
Ahhh, summer, right? If you think long and hard about everything you need to do, it’ll get done better and faster eventually, no? We wish. If you don’t talk about it, it’ll go away, right? Hardly.
So, here’s the plan: break your list into every move you’ll need to make for that summer project involving wood. One of those items surely will be researching wood product choices. Another might be getting samples of wood products. Yet another might be calling a wood manufacturer for a quote.
If you break it down, you could go to our website (check), hit the link in there to order some samples (check), and call us to get a quote (check), and the next thing you know, you’ll have checked THREE items off your Honey Do list (albeit the broken-down one that better reflects reality)!
It’s not too late. Really, it’s not. If we can at all take care of you before Mother Nature decides to soak the roots before freezing, we will. Your odds remain high. There’s hope for your list, you and your honey!
But WAIT! If you’d like a road trip or are in northern Michigan, come and visit us. We’ll show you around and let you see how we make everything. You could have some fun while chipping away at your list!
