You could get a kit. You could build it yourself. But if you’re looking for a tiny cabin for your getaway spot or garden area, the quality of wood you choose will make all the difference in the world.
It might not be something you care a lot about right now, but three, five or seven years down the road, you will. Tiny cabins are no different from anything you invest in; you get what you pay for.
A good friend of mine says she debated off-and-on for years with a coworker that would buy the same type of $15 polyester pants from the thrift store a few times each year while my friend invested in $140 lined, wool slacks.
It’s really a choice. Everyone has their preference. If you’re the type of person who’d rather not run to the thrift store because your inexpensive polyester pants split a seam or just don’t look new anymore, the type of wood your tiny cabin is made of will mean something to you.

Craftsmanship at every step.
It’s the nature of our business.
It means a lot to us, this quality wood topic. We love the wood we make. It feels different from our competitors’ wood. Yeah, it’s a few cents more per lineal foot, but we know why — and our customers happily pay for it.
Have you ever bought a vehicle that was close to the top of your budget limit? If you can afford to make that kind of decision, you know it’ll be worth it in the long run, right? If you buy a vehicle that’s less expensive, you’ll probably spend more time under it or at the repair shop — and have a towing bill or two tossed in between. By the time you’re done, you’ll have wished you invested a smidge more on that nicer vehicle.
If quality trumps price for you when you make fairly substantial investments in important areas in your life, think about what that tiny cabin will cost you in the long run if you don’t make it out of quality wood that’s been kiln dried to near-perfection, milled and constructed by craftsmen, and delivered by a company that stands behind its products.

We happen to know where you can find quality wood for your tiny cabin. We’ve been showing off the ones we build on TV lately. If you want to feel and smell a bunch of different types of our wood, we can ship samples to you. Normally we have several tiny cabin models on our lot but as this post goes up, all our models in Mio have been sold. More are coming so please call or come back to our blog for updates.
We are using a finished tiny cabin as a satellite office next to our mill. It will serve as a permanent model so let us know if you’d like to walk through it.
If you can’t make the trip to Mio, we cart a fully decorated tiny cabin to home shows a few times a year. Keep your eyes peeled for your favorite home show, builders show or simply give us a call.
We want you to have a tiny cabin that does not require maintenance or a full-on fix before you’ve had years of enjoyment in it. You won’t be able to zip out to the thrift store for a new one.
