Is the service pendulum swinging?

A generation of customers is growing up and waking up to the downside of dirt-cheap products. Quality and service are making a comeback; the pendulum is swinging.

We’ve noticed more people caring less about saving a few pennies, instead focusing on quality products and building relationships. It’s a good sign for businesses like ours that never stopped holding the bar high for what really matters: value.

Have you ever bought an inexpensive pair of pants? Did you notice how long they lasted? How about that sweet pair you invested in? Yeah, that’s what we’re talking about. You can buy the same cheap pair of pants several times over the course of a few years or invest in a nice pair that will last. The time and energy it takes to replace the inexpensive pair again and again isn’t worth it in the long run.

If all that’s important to you is cost, and interacting with staff members that care isn’t important, you should go to a big-box store instead of doing business with us. That’s not a slam against anybody; that’s just a fact.

We get as excited about our products as our customers do. We’re not thinking about “selling” them.

It’s a privilege to have people invest their hard-earned money in us and our products. At some level it’s as though they are honoring their money by investing in something that lasts.

You can always jump on the next fad or grab a great price on a sub-par product. Service and care seem to be coming full-circle; those qualities define us.

How is it that customers from other states and countries invest tens of thousands of dollars in our products without actually meeting a single member of our team? We all care about integrity, dedication, quality, and being genuine.

Quality Inspection
Craftsmanship at every step.
It’s the nature of our business.

We call ourselves “wood ticks” because we’re deep into wood. We get as excited about our customers’ projects as they do. We help them get what they want, need and can afford. We care about their project. We continue to care after it’s done.

We sometimes hound our customers for pictures of completed projects because we’ve been working on the numbers, creating their custom wood, and fulfilling their order — we honestly want to see what it looks like!

If you’ve been wondering what happened to honesty in business, look around. The ones that are thriving make sure their values are clear. They deliver. They stand behind their products and their work. They keep their word because of course they would.

We have a great group of people we view as family working here. They treat it like it’s their own home. For some, it is! This type of atmosphere is a far cry from what many businesses create — but it’s becoming more popular; customers can feel it.

We don’t sell wood. We consult with our customers. Here’s what we tell them:

This is what we make.
This is how we do it.
This is why we make it.
Our prices are fair right out of the gate.
There are no enticing deals here.
This is what will work for you.

We don’t push anybody over the cliff. We’re not just trying to sell lumber. When a project is done we want people to be happy. This always has been our way. It’s not been popular for decades, but the pendulum is swinging.
